December, 20, 2008, UPDATE...  what a glorious day!  thanks to the snow closure we've had at work the past couple of days, in addition to all of this year's updates i've been able to post on the site, i finally got around to posting the [sevilla & madrid pics] from our trip to europe last year-  only a little over a year late!  it's still awaiting jen's write up, but if you're anxious, check 'em out [here].  here's a sampling of the shots...

november, 2008...  in case you haven't heard the news...  JEN'S PREGNANT!  the latest due date is may, 26th, 2009.  we're _extremely_ excited, and have already started picking up toys and books here and there, in addition to developing quite the interesting "potential names" list!

october, 2008...  made a trip down to san franscisco with some of the stephan girls [jani, jen, linda, jean + me as their token male] to help jen's aunt linda celebrate her 60th birthday with the nike women's marathon and half marathon

september, 2008...  this year's annual stephan family washington wine tour landed us in the breath-taking lake chelan area-  extremely unique for wine country in that, aside from all of those beautiful hills of grape vines, the vineyards are situated around the rim of the lake.  we stayed nearby at the beautiful  [desert canyon golf resort] where we were able to "swing" a bit of golf at the beautiful [albeit extremely difficult] course, before stopping @ leavenworth on the way back to gather inspiration [and hats] for the upcoming JENTOBERFEST.

we also celebrated a couple of birthday's in september.  first up was jen's aunt linda's 60th, which gave everyone an excuse to get gussied up.  and the following day was the 4th? annual JENTOBERFEST commemorating jen's the 32nd year that jen has been on this planet!  both were made a bit more challenging by trying to remain tight-lipped about jen's pregnancy;)

BIG THANKS to jani for all the photos!!  [i promise we'll start taking more now that we have our brand new [canon 40d]!

august, 2008...  ron & maggie came up for a grand tour of the northwest.  the day after arriving, we started out by heading up to the stephan's pals' cabin on samish island, where we met up with brad, jani, mike, linda, and julia, for a bit of clammin', crabbin', and good eats.
note:  thanks for the samish photos, jani!

after that, ron & maggie headed up to check out whistler & victoria island [thanks to jen & jani's expert itinerary skills], before returning to seattle to see the sites.  we started that night with a group art show/ obama fundraiser in which i & a few other loose cannons participated.  then afterwards had dinner in madison valley at the delicious [nishino], which we'd been looking for an excuse to try out since moving up.  the next day we celebrated my birthday with a bit of sightseeing @ the space needle, pike's place market, and the seattle underground tour, before grabbing some pizza @ [serious pie].

and before heading back to that distant land known as "TEXAS", we putzed around kirkland a bit before heading up to a few of our favorite wineries in woodinville.

july, 2008...  headed down to dallas to celebrate a few patenaude birthdays including ron's 60th, jenny's 35th, and aaron's 31st + my dad's friend marty's going away party-  yee haw!

then we headed down to the tides hotel in Zihuatanejo, mexico,to celebrate our 2-year anniversary, with a zip line tour, surfing in shark territory [eegads!], swimming with the dolphins, and plenty of tequila...  before wrapping it all up with a fancy wine-pairing dinner in the tide's wine cellar, which was unceremoniously cut short by a historic battle against dysentery-  eegads
note:  if offered a homemade pop cycle @ a dirty beach in mexico, no matter how famished you might be...  turn it down.

during one of the free weekends jen, rob, & i hit and underwhelming wine festival in downtown kirkland, where after using up our drink tickets in record speed, we had a bit of fun with a sculpture installation near the shore of lake washington + there were at least a few rounds of golf somewhere in there too.

PRE-JUNE, 2008 adventures...  so.  with one of the most chaotic  schedules we've had in the last few years [witht he move + new jobs and all],  lately there's been quite a shortage of updates.  to combat that, and let everyone know just how much fun we're still having, here's a few photos from the last half year...
wine tasting in woodinville, jenny, adriah, & sean visit from dallas [jenny,  send me your photos], a visit from jen [and my] NY buddy, gina,  jen's cousin lauren's birthday party, a few art progress shots along with ones from brian's first group art show, our first wine tasting party, and a trip out to crystal mountain with rob, nicole, & elliot...

i'm sure a few other pics have slipped through the cracks as well [and gimme a holler if you have any of them]-  will post them as soon as we spot 'em!

may 28th, 2008...  yeah, yeah-  i know...  a site with this infrequent updates is BOOOOORRRRRIIIINNNGGGG.  we've been quite busy lately with work, art, and misc. goings on, but are committing to start posting again.

and in the next few weeks, there will actually be quite a bit to post about.  getting respectable @ golf, our venture into house hunting [getting an early jump on it, so we'll be ready by the end of the year], a few parties i'm sure, and celebrating our two-year anniversary at [the beautiful tides hotel] in Zihuatanejo, mexico [the beach where tim robbins & morgan freeman met up @ the end of shawshank redemption].

also look-  i've changed the font!  might start playing around with the look more, and am considering shifting away from frontpage [which i hear is extinct now], towards something more easily manageable from multiple pcs.

talk to ya soon!

march 1st, 2008...  brian's first foray into the seattle art scene @ the [ouch my eye gallery] for the saturday morning cartoons show !  unfortunately we missed it due to a prior engagement, BUT were able to check it out the following weekend, thanks to laurence ruelos the plastic bandolier, who kept the gallery open at night all week long.

meanwhile, jen and i had flown down to napa, in preparation for the marathon & a few days of wine tasting while restocking our dwindling supply...

jen finished her first solo marathon, and brian surprised himself with a 3:16:18-  not too terribly far off his PR.

march 22nd, 2008...  yes...  we're still alive, but have been super busy with the move to WA, new job @ [loose cannon studios] & painting away for my first art show...  ever! stay tuned for updates in march!

january 5th, 2008...  after a whirlwind of a holiday season, we've landed at our new home in kirkland, WA-  will post details and photos as soon as the dust settles.
